Over 70 years of dedicated craftsmanship, we have learned to communicate with wood, discerning its hidden qualities and characteristics to create optimal works.
This natural material, which does not bend to the will of the creator alone, is tamed through experience, knowledge, and skill, with each cut imbued with spirit to create a variety of works.
Traditional Japanese wood carving techniques, passed down since ancient times, have produced countless works, epitomized by Buddhist statues, and continue to reside in the hearts and daily lives of the Japanese people.

Even as times have advanced, materials have shifted from wood to artificial resins, and manufacturing technology has become increasingly mechanized, we still believe that works finished with various carving techniques, in particular, will fill our hearts with the organic gentleness of wood and the comfort of touching it.

Uekusa Toun
Toun Uekusa is a renowned woodcarver and Buddhist sculptor based in Yokohama. He presides over the "Toun Traditional Woodcarving Techniques Association," which aims to preserve and pass on traditional woodcarving techniques. In addition to creating sculptures of Buddhist statues, animals, and figures, he also serves as an instructor for Buddhist statue courses at the Japan Art Education Center, among other places.

Naohiro Uekusa is a renowned jewelry designer based in Yokohama. Born in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, in 1974, he began studying woodcarving under his father, a wood sculptor (Toun), in 2000. After crafting wood-carved netsuke, he established the design studio Show-N's Creation.
